Watercolor painting on board depicting the main building erected for the Detroit International Exposition and Fair of 1889. The building is decorated with a variety of flags. People on footage, horse-drawn carriages, and a peacock are included on the grounds adjacent to the building. Along the lower portion of the painting, a series of banners contain the caption, "Detroit International Fair & Exposition, View of Main Building." The banners connection with a rendition of the Michigan cote of arms, backed by both American and Canadian flags, at the lower right corner of the painting.
