One limited edition medal to commemorate the boxing match win of Joe Louis over Max Schmeling in 1938. The circular medal, number 228, is made of bronze and has a smooth edge. A raised image is shown on the obverse that depicts Joe Louis in a boxing pose. Adjacent text along the edge reads "Joe Louis - The Brown Bomber." Small script initials near the lower center edge show "PC/JFL," and "S Co, 75." The reverse shows an image of Joe Louis standing beside his fallen opponent, Max Schmeling. Adjacent text reads "Louis vs. Schmeling, June 22, 1938," and "A Victory for Democracy." The medal number, 228, is stamped in small text on the top edge.
