Flagon
One sacramental wine flagon used at St. James Lutheran Church which was located at the southwest corner of Lyndon Avenue and Southfield Road in Detroit. The flagon is cyclindrical in shape and is made of gold-plated silver. It has a narrow top with a hinged lid, a short covered spout, a decorative curved handle with a thumb rest, and straight sides that flare outward slightly to form a wide decorative base. A cross and the letters, "IHS," are engraved on one side of the flagon. The handle on the hinged lid consists of a small cross at the top center. Engraved lettering on the underside of the flagon base reads "E2001, silver soldered, Pat. Pending," and "IS [International Silver]."
