1910 Packard Rescue Wagon
1910 Packard Rescue Wagon, purchased by the Detroit Fire Department "Flying Squad" as a rescue vehicle for $4,669.20. It has a 4-cylinder, 30-horsepower engine with a 124-inch wheelbase. The exterior is painted red with black and golf accents. "Squad 215" is written in gold and black paint on the drivers-side. There is one two-person seat (in the front) upholstered with black leather. There are two benches (also upholstered in black leather) in the back section of the truck for more firefighters/rescuers. There is no roof on the vehicle. There are no doors; only openings to walk through. A large golden-metal bell is mounted on the center of the hood, directly in front of the windshield. A spare Firestone tire is mounted on the drivers-side and a large canvas-covered net is mounted on the passenger-side.
It is recognised by Packard historians as the oldest unrestored (in original condition) Packard still in existence.
