Dish, Dessert

One dessert or ice cream dish from a dining room of one of the passenger steamships of the Temiskaming Navigation Company, Ltd., of Ontario. The oval-shaped dish is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has slightly-curved sides with a narrow, rounded rim. One narrow red stripe encircles top surface of the dish along the midpoint of the sides. At a break in the stripe at the center of one of the long sides, a red/black/white image of the company flag is stamped along with black text that reads "The Temiskaming Nav. Co., Ltd." The underside is stamped with black text that reads, "W. H. Grindley & Co., Vitrified, England," and "Furnished by Nerlich & Co., Toronto."
