Bag, Newspaper Carrier's

One Detroit Times newspaper delivery bag. The rectangular, shoulder-style bag is made of heavyweight white cotton canvas. It has a wide shoulder strap, triple-sewn seams on the sides of the bag, and reinforcing tape along the top edge. The interior includes a sewn pocket on one end and a wide canvas flap that could be folded over the top of the bag to keep newspapers dry during rainy weather. One of the exterior sides is stamped with green-outlined, orange text that reads "The Detroit Times, A Good Newspaper." A paper tag on one end of the bag is stamped with red text that reads "Troy News Bag," and "Made by the Troy Sunshade Co., Troy, Ohio."
