U-Matic tape containing footage athletic demonstrations following a press conference at the Adams-Butzel Complex on March 21, 1984 celebrating Detroit's Olympic hopefuls and up-and-coming athletes.

The tape begins with a boxing demonstration between Frank Tate and Ricky Womack in the complex's boxing ring. The video then cuts to the first of several demonstrations in the complex's gym. In the first gymnastics demonstration, a young woman performs a routine with a hula hoop. A woman, presumably gymnastics coach Roza Litvakova, addresses the audience about individual and group routines, and the upcoming Renaissance Cup International Invitation Rhythmic Gymnastic Meet at Country Day and Wayne State University on March 24th and 25th. Wendy Hilliard then performs a routine with a ball set to Sweet Georgia Brown. Afterward another gymnast performs another routine with a ball. The camera then cuts to a fencing demonstration in the same gym. A man, explains fencing techniques to viewers as fencers, including Anita Hawkins, demonstrate them. After the fencing several young gymnasts jump rope, a team of four rhythmic gymnasts do a ribbon routine, then a solo gymnast performs a ribbon routine. The sound drops out during this final gymnastic segment. Several brief shots of children swimming in the complex's pool follow. The audio returns for the final segment on the tape--a Department of Public Information employee joking about his working conditions.

The video is on a UCA-20 U-Matic S tape with a handwritten Department of Public Information Video Production label on the top. The tape is housed within a black plastic latching clamshell case with a torn Department of Public Information label on the cover.
