Soldier's Memorial

Roster: "Soldier's Memorial" for the Detroit Light Infantry, Company L of the Thirty-Second Michigan Infantry, United States Volunteers in the Spanish-American War of 1898. The print shows a scene on the left of men leaving for war, a scene on the bottom of men fighting in battle, and a scene on the right of men returning home. The center of the print shows three columns comprising the roster of Company L, with the left and right columns listing enlisted men and the center column listing company officers, sergeants, corporals, musicians, artificer, wagoner, and the commanding colonel. The text "May 13 in 1898" is hand written next to the name "Denecour, Harry A." on the left column. A text box on the bottom of the print reads "Organized at Detroit, Mich., as Detroit Cadets, Oct. 2nd, 1882, Amalgamated with Detroit Light Infantry, December, 1889, Mustered into State Service as Co. H, 4th Infantry, Oct. 26th, 1891, Mustered into the United States Service at Island Lake, Mich., May 13th, 1898." Hand written text in ink on the back of the roster reads "He went away on Friday to Island."
