Finishing the Job, Progress Building and Expansion Program

Program for the 125th Anniversary Celebration of the Young Men's Christian Association of Metropolitan Detroit held on Friday, September 29, 1978 at Cobo Hall. The Y.M.C.A. Downtown Branch on the corner of Witherell Street and East Adams Street is pictured on the cover, with "Moving forward with Detroit..." printed beneath. Within are congratulatory notes from Mayor Coleman A. Young, and Governor William G. Milliken, as well as profiles of the event's speakers, actor Louis Gossett, Jr., general chairman Dr. William G. Anderson, and United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young. There are also several pages of photographs both historical and contemporary showing the association's work in the city. A list of Y.M.C.A. branches in the metropolitan area is printed on the back cover.
