Detroit Firemen's 46th Annual Field Day

Program book for the 1968 Detroit Firemen's Fund Association Field Day held at Tiger Stadium on August 27th. A half-tone photo of a group of firefighters on board the department's first self-propelled fire engine--Engine Company No. 1's Amoskeag "Hercules"--against a red background is on the cover. Articles fire department parades and the history of the department (both written by Clarence C. Woodard), the clowns of the Firemen's Thrill Show, the Medical Division, the Arson Section, as well as contemporary and historical photos, score cards for the event's baseball games, and numerous advertisements, are contained within.
