Detroit Firemen's 45th Annual Field Day

Program book for the 1967 Detroit Firemen's Fund Association Field Day held at Tiger Stadium on August 27th, also celebrating the 100th anniversary year of the Detroit Firemen's Fund Association. A half-tone photo of a group of firefighters on board the department's first self-propelled fire engine--Engine Company No. 1's Amoskeag "Hercules"--against a gold background is on the cover. Articles on the Fire Marshall Division, non-firefighter groups who respond to fire alarms, the Arson Section, the Medical Division, the Rescue Squad, the clowns of the Firemen's Thrill Show, Detroit's early fire alarm system (written by Clarence C. Woodard), the Training Division, and the "Hercules," as well as contemporary and historical photos, score cards for the event's baseball games, and numerous advertisements, are contained within. A portion of the cover of the previous year's program (2005.004.045) has been pasted to page 32.
