One color postcard of the old Detroit Public Library building in downtown Detroit. The postcard shows an elevated front corner views of the 4-story decorative stone building which was located at Gratiot Avenue and Farmer Street in downtown Detroit. Various office/commercial buildings can be seen in the background. Small red printed text near the upper left corner of the postcard reads "Public Library, Detroit, Mich." Small black printed text on the verso reads "1303 - The Detroit Public Library. Situated at Gratiot Avenue and Farmer Street, was built in 1875 and contains 200,000 volumes. It is conducted by a board, appointed by the Board of Education."
