The Mackinac Bridge

One postcard entitled "The Mackinac Bridge," published by the L.L. Cook Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The postcard features a color photographic image of the Mackinac Bridge taken from atop its central tower, facing north. A freighter can be seen about to pass under the bridge. A caption on the verso reads, "Joining Michigan's Peninsulas. This unusual view was taken from the top of one of the spires which are 552 ft. above water. A large lake steamer can be seen about to pass under the center span." A handwritten message is on the verso from a Maurice to Will Keller of Wilmington, Delaware. The verso also features a Johnstown, Pennsylvania postmark dated September 19, 1978.
