Printed on the verso, "WWJ, The Detroit News' famous radio-phone broadcasting station, was the first established by a newspaper anywhere in the world. It began operation in August 1920. Its programs, noted for their merit, are heard from Peru to the outposts of civilization in Canada; from Europe to Hawaii. The Detroit News Orchestra, a symphonic ensemble of mater musicians, plays daily for the 'radio family' and visitors."
