Menu
Half-folded J.L. Hudson Company Dining Rooms menu, dated May 28, 1949, bearing the painting "Picnic Grove, New Baltimore," by Aaron Bohrod on the front cover surrounded by a copper border. The painting depicts picnickers near the shore of New Baltimore on Lake St. Clair and was part of the Michigan on Canvas touring exhibit put together by the J.L. Hudson Company. A passage on the back cover explains both the exhibit and the painting. Within the menu is divided into the sections "Soups and Appetizers," "Shopper's Luncheon One Dollar," "Sandwiches," "Desserts," "Fruits," "Hudson-Made Ice Cream and Sundaes," and "Beverages." A note along the bottom of the menu's interior informs, "Detroit's Police Department asks everyone's help in its traffic safety program, "Watch Out For Kids."
