Sold by Mitchell & Hinman No. 6 North Fifth Street". The top right portion of the map features a listing of principal steam boat routes, including: Detroit to Buffalo, Detroit to Fort Gratiot, Detroit to Chicago, and Niles to St. Joseph, indicating the distance to various points along those routes. The perimeter of the map indicates lines of latitude and longitude. Text along the bottom edge of the map reads: "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1834 by S. Augustus Mitchell, in the Clerks office of the district court of the Eastern district of Pennsylvania" and printed at bottom center: "Engraved by J.H. Young."
