Typewritten letter on Recess Club stationery from Jeffery Cornish, president of the Recess Club to club members, announcing that Board of Governors of the club has voted to close the club down, dated August 23, 1990. The letter cites a downturn in business and entertainment activities in the New Center area, the uncertainty of activity with the Fisher Theatre, and declining membership as reasons. Several handwritten notes have been made in the bottom margin corning a consultant who concurred with the plan to close.
