Silent color 16mm film containing footage shot for Detroit Means Business featuring scenes of a crowd outside of Emily's Across the Street, a press conference at Trolley Plaza, and the campus of Oakland University.

The reel opens with a series of shots of activity outside of Emily's Across the Street on the east corner of Shelby Street and West Congress Street. Pedestrians and a cyclist wait at the corner. Some members of the crowd hold balloons printed with Emily Gail's slogan, "Say Nice Things About Detroit." A pair of mounted police officers approach, and children pet their horses. A woman sells produce at the curb..

The next portion of the tape contains video of a press conference at Trolley Plaza. A podium, surrounded by flowers and Trolley Plaza balloons, is set up beside a window overlooking the building's podium level. Mayor Coleman A. Young approaches the podium, as the camera rotates around to capture a room packed with photographers. After a cut, a man wearing City of Detroit pin on his lapel speaks. He is followed by Mayor Young. As Young speaks, the camera moves in for a close-up beside him, and rotates around to also capture the press. After Young, another man takes the microphone to address the crowd. During his speech, the camera zooms in on the bunch of Trolley Plaza balloons suspended behind him. The original speaker then returns to the podium to open a large bottle of champagne. Young then pours the champagne for Erma Henderson, Maryann Mahaffey, and the other presenters. The camera rolls as the presenters drink the champagne, and waiters begin also serving it to the crowd.

The final shots on the tape are of the campus of Oakland University--the Bear Lake Bridge, and one of the university's signs.

The film is contained on a plastic core within an Allied Film Labs bag. A label in the bag is marked "Urban X 209 4882 - 209 5645, B 178 8577 - 178 8767."
