Certificate, mounted on board, awarded to Joseph Belanger, French Consular Agent from Detroit, by the French "l'Ordre National de la Legion d'honneur" (National Order of the Legion of Honour) in 1927. The full text of the certificate is in French. At top is an illustration of a medal inscribed with the text "Republique Francaise 1870." The bottom left of the certificate is embossed with the seal of the Grande Chancellerie de la Legion d'Honneur. The certificate is outline in a decorative border.
