Conceived in 1867 and opened in 1868, Woodmere ranks among Detroit’s largest and most historic cemeteries. Jewish history is especially prominent here, as many of the city’s most significant Jewish figures of the 19th and 20th century are buried or interred in the North F and Beth El sections.
