Sensory-friendly superhero adventure!
This Halloween, the Detroit Historical Museum is offering a calm, welcoming, and family-friendly experience designed for children who benefit from a reduced sensory environment.
Assemble your heroes, heroines, and sidekicks for a free, action-packed adventure where kids can trick-or-treat through The Streets of Old Detroit at a gentle, manageable pace.
Capes, masks, and costumes are encouraged—this is your chance to power up, strike a heroic pose, and save the day in a safe, inclusive, and festive environment right in the heart of Detroit.
Limit 6 tickets per family.
This session is perfect for children and adults who may be sensitive to loud noises, bright lights, or need a quieter environment to enjoy the festivities. This session is reserved for participants and their families who require a sensory-friendly experience.
We kindly ask that you only sign up for this time if you or a family member needs a quieter, sensory-sensitive environment to fully enjoy the event. There is limited capacity to maintain the environment and a limit of five tickets per family. Thank you for your understanding!
Please note: As part of our community Halloween celebration for families, we ask that no costumes be worn that promote the use of illegal substances or activities or are derogatory, disrespectful or depict violence.
Additionally, no weapons or depictions of weapons (nun-chucks/sickles/swords/knives/guns, etc.) will be allowed in the museum.
We will not admit anyone wearing a costume that includes any of the above.
Thank you for helping us keep this a family friendly event!
