Sign

Sign for the Hudson's Circulating Library. The left side contains the J.L. Hudson Company logo with the following text underneath:

"From Short Notes
-a Long Friendship

Ever been lonely-and then have the mailman come? Funny, isn't it, how much brighter the day seemed, how you carried a little warm-hearted feeling with you all day-just because a friend wrote. Why not give as wonderful a gift in return, when it's so easy to choose a cheery card, to jot a message and mail. Do what so many clever people do, keep an assortment of appropriate cards on hand, ready when you need them. You'll find a wonderful selection in Hudson's
Greeting Card Section
Near the Entrance to the Circulating Library

FORM 446 100M MULTI."

The center of the sign features a vertically elongated rectangle with a decorative border and a J.L. Hudson Company logo against a purple background.

The right side of the sign features an image of people browsing the library with the text "Hudson's Circulating Library" underneath. Underneath that is text reading "Rental 3c Daily The J.L. Hudson Company Detroit." Text on the far right side reads as follows:

"Library Regulations
1 - The Rental fee is three cents for each twenty-four hours or fraction thereof and is payable in cash. We regret we cannot charge library fees.
2 - Books cannot be delivered or called for.
3 - Patrons assume responsibility for the return of books in good condition."
