Detroit 67 Community Open House Panel Discussion

Held July 21, 2016 – 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Detroit Historical Museum

The Detroit Historical Society hosted a community open house to share information about the project, as well as provide information on how to get involved. The event featured many of our project partners, including New Detroit, the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, the Youth Development Commission, Focus:Hope, Detroit Institute of Arts, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Detroit Young Professionals, Detroit Equity Action Lab and the Michigan Science Center.

The event included a program, with a presentation from Marsha Music, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Detroit 67 project director, Marlowe Stoudamire. Our panelists were:

  • Dr. Tonya Matthews, President and CEO of the Michigan Science Center
  • Juanita Moore, President and CEO of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
